About FontCurator

From a small studio in Devon & Cornwall.

We work with fonts. Every day, on every project — creating them, choosing them, comparing them, testing them, licensing them, archiving them.

Why we built it

Born out of frustration.

For years we shuttled between half a dozen tools to do one job — macOS Font Book to install, glyph apps for inspection, spreadsheets for licensing, screenshots and folders for the projects each font ended up in. Nothing connected. Everything went stale.

We wanted a single tool: one place to catalogue every font on the Mac, get deep introspection into each one, and manage the licensing, projects, and history around them. There wasn’t one we could buy — so we built it.

The App is still very much in its infancy, but we’re confident it will be a valuable tool for anyone working with fonts. It is also meant to be affordable. We aimed to try and publish it for around the same price as a single font, so that anyone can use it. Even if you are a first time font buyer, we hope you will find it useful.

We are not done yet! There is still a lot to do. We’re working on a feature roadmap, with all the ideas we have had to shelve along the way, which means that the app will continue to grow over time.

The shape of the tool

Catalog. Tag. Curate.

Three verbs, in order. The tool that walks you through them — one Mac, one library, one source of truth.
